From 2007-2009, I co-owned and directed a non-profit art gallery called Skinny Squirrel Gallery which showcased emerging Colorado-based artists. It was a brief run, but we met some fantastic, talented people and felt we helped to reshape the local scene in RiNo by featuring younger, less established folks [this was before self promoting tools such as Instagram/Squarespace/etc. had taken off]. We held First Friday shows featuring a solo artist and a DIY/Art retail shop offering photography, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry, hand sewn clothes, zines, greeting cards, and vintage furniture.
